Hmmmm, just came across these a few moments ago. Definitely love the birds - very unusual. They have quite an ancient feel to them. They are made from cast recycled copper and tin. Beautiful - from Tundra Dear.

Vintage
I used to have an obsession with vintage fountain pens(and we're not talking a mild one) I bought and sold them on Ebay and became quite the expert on those fabulous old writing tools. I still can't resist checking out a pen here and there when I run across them - like these from Second Seed. I ended up with quite a lot of fairly valuable pens - which I eventually swapped in northern Idaho for a simply stunning, vintage store counter for the cafe a few years ago - and that was the end of my pen collection!

Oh and I found these too - I think these are super cool !
Window Shopping
Every year as part of my birthday present Doug always buys me a selection of British fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle. I love flipping through them and really enjoy the back pages with all the directories of shops. I love the shoes at Mandarina - they use really beautiful fabrics and coloured leathers - thought you might like a peek . . .

Have you heard of Laduree? Founded in the mid 1800s, Laduree is an institution in Paris - a tea room patisserie extraordinaire. They have boutiques in the finest locations in Paris and in other centers in the world. They are most famous for their macaroons - which seem to be the dessert du jour! Here are some photographs of their exquisite locations . . .

I'm so impressed by this Etsy seller's punch needle work - especially this piece with the grey bunny. I love the colors and textures - really nice - I hope to see a lot more pieces in her shop soon.

Window shopping
My friend Nina of Temps Perdu sent me a link to this great shop yesterday. The store is called SchubLaden and they design and produce furniture from reclaimed wood - especially orphaned drawers! So creative. This looks like it would take so much skill to make each piece fit to form the whole. I am sure you all love this is much as I do.

Simply gorgeous interiors from photographer Douglas Friedman. I really love this artists work, his portfolio is beautiful. I hope you have time to visit his site and admire all the beautiful photographs.

What do you think of this idea of using vintage art behind the bed like this - I love it!

STOP! Wait a minute. Back up! I know, you took one look at these and thought, "Oh another person making reproduction grain sack pillows!" No, you're wrong, these are ORIGINALS! These pillows are made from original German grain sacks and if you're a vintage type freak like me you'll appreciate every rip, patch and worn bit on these amazing old textiles. The horses are incredible aren't they? These are from 3 Fine Grains.
